The Study about The Meaning of the formal elderly care Labour by employee in Long-term care setting

Abstract

The present study illustrated the experiences of workers in long-term care settings in order to improve quality of formal long-term care services. Indepth interviews were analysed according to the phenomenological psychological method. The findings showed that there were 9 subject, 24 sub-subject and 29 meaning units. This result is follow. First, the formal longterm care labour define as the emotional and psychological Service. Heart work, agency work and Pride of work
by analysis suggested that the emotional and psychological Service is more important than the technical service in long term setting. It acts on the Health of the elderly considerly. The Second, It substitutes informal care. The formal long term care is fulfilled on role of family, friends and last lifetime partner. Thirds, it is the work of the partnership of female and male. In long term care setting, there are divided from them. The formal elderly care need men according to heavy physical labor or sexual dementia patients. Women is required Bathing, changing their diapers. Last, it is humane valuable work. This labour is based on the spirits of dedication and commitment. This cause helps the staff in long term care setting in the maintaining providing the service. And they experience their inner world.
